Statement Regarding #UniteTheRight Charlottesville Rally
I am white. I am a Christian. I condemn the white supremacist, racist, neo-nazi, and white nationalist ideologies represented by the #UniteTheRight rally that occurred in Charlottesville on August 12, as well as the march the previous night. I condemn the President’s failure to name the evil. I believe his failure to do so sends a deliberate signal of support to groups that champion such ideologies.
I support the right to peacefully assemble. I abhor violence on all sides.
The organizer, Jason Kessler, is an Alt Right blogger. Richard Spencer and David Dukes were featured speakers. You can find more information about this event on the organizer’s website (Facebook has removed the event page).
